Kyrghizistan: between ski mountaineering and yurts

Kyrgyzstan is a country in Central Asia made up of 94% mountains, which is why our destination, the Irdyk Valley, will give us uncontaminated landscapes capable of transmitting calm and serenity. Almost as if we were in another dimension! We will sleep in a colorful yurt and wake up surrounded by snow, ready to slide down the slopes of the incredible Kyrgyz mountains. Upon returning to camp, before the typical dinner, we will allow ourselves a moment of relaxation with a nice sauna. The right reward after the effort of ski mountaineering, right?!

Day 1-2: Departure

Departure from Italy and arrival in Bishkek, reception at the airport. Transfer by private minivan to Karakol and then to the valley (about 420 km, 5 hours). Transfer by ski to the base camp (we start light, with the backpack, while the luggage goes up on the snowmobile) at an altitude of 2340 m, dinner and overnight stay in a yurt.

Daily ski-on-foot trips from base camp, at altitudes up to 3700 m, with varied terrain and various levels of difficulty. Possibility of steep slopes and couloirs, but also of new and virgin itineraries. Upon returning, a nice barbecue awaits us among the yurts followed by the sauna.
For our ski mountaineering trips we have a wide choice available in the Suuktor Valley always starting from the camp and ranging across the vast amphitheater that surrounds it: Peaks of Dzheti Oguz (3634 m), Kum-Bel Pass (3390 m), At- Dzhayloo (3690 m), other unnamed peaks and new lines in the Telemu group.

Ski mountaineering in the Maritime Alps: Valle Stura

  •   Dates to be defined
The Stura Valley: one of the most enchanting corners of the Maritime and Cottian Alps, an ideal environment for those who love ski mountaineering! In winter, the valley transforms into a true paradise for ski mountaineering!!! Thanks to its territorial conformation, this valley offers opportunities for everyone, beginners and experts, to ski on winter and spring snows with trips of varying difficulty. The ideal destination for those looking for an adventure far from mass tourism to discover still wild corners!!! The “ski de randonnée” also goes beyond the Colle della Maddalena, which remains a good alternative when the snow conditions are not optimal on the Italian side. Our choice is to base ourselves in Sambuco, at the Osteria della Pace, where, in addition to the delicious cuisine and a very varied wine list, you can relax in the hotel SPA after long ski mountaineering trips.

Monte Rosa is the temple of Freeride: wide lands, an infinite variety of slopes of different technical levels suitable for all, from the beginner to the steep skiing lover; modern ski lifts that allow the skier to fully enjoy the ski day. If it is true that the well-known “Monte Rosa Tour” is today partly affected by ski lifts, the modern Punta Indren lift station leads you in a short time up to an altitude of 3200 m and lets you reach the wide slopes to Gressoney (such as to Lys Valley) or to Alagna, throughout couloirs, glaciers, isolated valleys surrounded by steep sides.
