Ski mountaineering in the Lyngen Nord Alps

The Lyngen Alps are a young mountain range in Norway, made up of wild peaks sinking firmly in the North Atlantic Ocean beyond the Arctic Circle. Their incredible geographical exuberance has fascinated skiers for years! A small number of larger islands offer abundance of powerful verticality, while an infinite galaxy of smaller islands, inlets and rocks, small harbors, bays and high cliffs, thin ridges and white beaches offer breathtaking landscapes and ever-changing emotions.

Travel program

DAY 1: Flight from Italy to Tromso. Car renting. Transfer and hotel accommodation, free dinner.

DAY 2: Breakfast in the hotel, first ski mountaineering excursion of the week on boreal snow. Transfer to the booked chalets, free dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3/7: Every day, depending on the technical level of the group and based on the snow and weather conditions, the guides will select and identify the itineraries to be done, choosing among the best peaks, couloirs or crossings. Starting from the most classic climb, such as the one to the Storgalten, to the more challenging crossings on Tafeltinden Glacier and the Lyngen Alps, which offer an alpine terrain, culminating on every side with a view on the sea. A real playground for skiers, but also a pleasant ski trip for beginners. From the highest peaks to the beaches, directly on skis. An experience that only the Great North can offer. Icing on the cake: the beautiful northern lights that color the sky with green and the mountains covered with snow. Transfer to Tromso for the overnight stay.

DAY 8: Car return and flight back to Italy.

Monte Rosa Freeride

  •   04 - 06 January 2025
Monte Rosa is the temple of Freeride: wide lands, an infinite variety of slopes of different technical levels suitable for all, from the beginner to the steep skiing lover; modern ski lifts that allow the skier to fully enjoy the ski day. If it is true that the well-known “Monte Rosa Tour” is today partly affected by ski lifts, the modern Punta Indren lift station leads you in a short time up to an altitude of 3200 m and lets you reach the wide slopes to Gressoney (such as to Lys Valley) or to Alagna, throughout couloirs, glaciers, isolated valleys surrounded by steep sides.

Ski mountaineering in Patagonia

  •   Dates to be defined
Patagonia is "a magical land for mountaineers and travelers", quoted a beautiful book by S. Metzeltin and G. Buscaini. It couldn’t be otherwise, with its spaces, its lights, its orange granite towers. Our ski mountaineering trip in Patagonia offers a reinterpretation of the southern landscape so dear to the collective imagination: September occurs at the same time with the end of the southern winter and in Patagonia you will find very few people; even places like El Chalten, now devoted to international tourism, in this season is cleared out. This allows you to find those postcard views as they were until not many years ago. From Bariloche to El Chalten first you will ski among the colorful granite spires of Cerro Cathedral, then you will cross the mythical Carretera Austral: basically, you will descend from Bariloche to El Chalten along a notoriously spectacular route that runs from north to south the Chilean fjords. In this trip you will have the opportunity to make any exploratory ski mountaineering experiences (in a very real sense, because there you will have almost no activity reviews): however it will be a trip with unique views, that will allow you to return to Argentina through the pass of Chile Chico and then to El Chalten to ski in front of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. In order to carry out this travel project, we won’t make any hotel reservation during the middle part of the tour (despite having already identified and notified the available facilities) in order to have maximum freedom of movement and decide day by day where to stay overnight: a somewhat adventurous journey therefore, which will involve all participants in the creation of the program!
